This is what we’re using around the hot tub walls and for the left and right side of the pool to hot tub walls.

See rendering and stone pics

Question is how will it do. When we said stacked stone this is not what I was thinking. However my wife seems to be ok with it.

I have found that 9 out of 10 times, if the wife is happy with it, I will be too. :) In any case, it's been a while since you posted and there were no replies, so I wanted to jump in and try to get your thread re-energized. Happy shopping.

Will there be intermittent water flow over the stone such that it gets wet and then allowed to evaporate? If so, stacked stone can be a nightmare to clean scale off of.

Thanks Splash!

The stone is the perimeter of the hot tub. Updated pic attached. PB went a little fast for my liking in the selection stage. But this is what we have. Water is supposed to spill over flagstone in the middle with waterline tile below.

Looks great! It's hard to imagine with the stone just sitting on the pallet but I think it turned out good. They are probably done by now, but they can fill in between each rock with lots of grout or a little grout depending on how much of the rock you want exposed. If it seems too..."textured" then tell them to put more on there and make it more of a flat wall and seeing less of the top and bottom of each rock.

Does that make sense?! I can see it in my head, this one is hard to type/explain haha.

You are correct they are done. They did not grout any of that area. Going for a “natural” look?

Not sure if we’d like it more or less so I imagine we’ll leave it as is for now. We can always grout later.

Thanks for the idea.
