ET transceiver - 10' max?

I see in the Pentair manual that they recommend installing the outdoor transceiver at least 10' from the load center.. but then just provide you with just 10' of cable.. *shrugs*

in any event, I've got 2 transceivers installed right above the load center (one for ScreenLogic and one for the 4-button QuickTouch II remote for house guests, etc..).. the ScreenLogic one works fine but the QuickTouch II's range is limited to about 20'. I've swapped the batteries so I assume it's a line of sight issue with it being mounted so close to the other receiver. Has anyone mounted their receiver more than 10' from the load center? Any idea what cable I'd need to pick up to extend the run? My pad is a good 60' from the pool/patio and I'd just assume put the transceiver nearer the pool/patio area but at the very least would move it around the corner so both transceivers could have better line of sight.

Yep, my antennae/receiver is probably 25' to 30' with the wire going around a 90 deg corner from the ET panel. I usually keep my 8 button RF remote in the main house and the side door is easily > 30' from the antenna. Works just fine. It's not line of sight, it's an RF remote so it should work as long as you are within range and do not have a lot of grounded metal shielding between the remote and the receiver.

Also, I was not aware you could run BOTH the RF remote AND ScreenLogic at the same time. I always thought it was one or the other...

Darin,

It appears to me that the cable between the EasyTouch and Antenna is just a simple 4 wire cable My guess is that any four-wire cable would work. Something like Sprinkler cable should work fine.

The four wires get connected to one of the comm ports inside the ET and then to the Antenna/trans-receiver.

And yes, Matt, you can have your tin can system along with ScreenLogic. (I didn't know that either, until Darin told me last week...) :p

Thanks,

Jim R.
