Nearing the end of our 12 month 🙄 build. The plumbers just set the equipment today. We have a 12k gallon gunite pool with spa. I think they are still missing the spa blower, but can you experts take a look and let me know if anything looks off? At this point, I don’t have a ton of confidence in our PB.

Katie,

They still have a lot of plumbing to do, as a bunch of valves are missing. It appears they are just doing a system pressure test.

I like that they have a heater bypass and that you have a VS pump. I would have had them install an actual filter instead of a soda can, but that is just me.

Dinky filters are Florida thing. :poke:

So far, it looks fine to me.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks, now that you mention it, they were asking about valves with red handles. Not sure where those would go on here?
So you’re saying more plumbing needed before they can hook up electrical?

Katie,

"Red Handle" would indicate cheap PVC ball valves. Not something we recommend here at TFP.

The only valves that I would want are Jandy Style 2-Way valves.

After a few years you will not be able to turn PVC ball valves.

Each of those pipes going down into the ground will most likely have a valve to control the flow for that individual pipe.

It would look something like this..

If you can't get 2-way Jandy valves, at least insist on double-union ball valves so that when they fail (and they will) replacement is much easier.

It's not just you. There is no value in an undersized filter. It looks like there's enough room on that pad to install a bigger filter with just a little plumbing rearrangement. @katiejean13 , if you can get the PB to upgrade you to a larger filter, pay them to do so. It will be worth it in the long run when you don't have to clean the filter as often.
