Hi, we have a Jandy Stealth JHPu2.0 (2004) with a motor that is making a ton of noise. Actually wouldnt start a couple weeks ago. Current motor doesnt state either horsepower or SF on the label, but is part number 7-193633-24.

Pool builder specs show 2HP on the design sheet.

Pool is roughly 13000 galons has one drain, 2 skimmer in pool, one drain and overflow on attached spa. Polaris 280 with separate booster pump. Waterfall with separate pump, drain and return. Pentair FNS Plus 60 sq ft DE filter

Curious about Emerson vs AO Smith/Century motors and going to dual speed. Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks

What is important is the frame size, HP and single/dual speed. Please note that uprated and full rated motors of equal horsepower will work. I don't think that there is much difference between brands.

The JHPu2.0 is an up rated pump so you will want either a 1.5 HP full rated motor (high SF) or a 2.0 HP up rated motor (low SF). As far as Emerson vs AO Smith, a few years ago, I would have probably recommended AO smith but now, I don't think it matters much. Depending on the motor line, some are made in China and some in Mexico.

Ended up finding a Century B129 Full rated 1.5HP for $180 delivered so jumped on it. Not sure I cna share the company here, but they are doign a Cyber Monday 25% off over $150 I got to take advantage of
