Hello all. We are putting in an in-ground gunite pool (16x34) and will have 2in. Travertine coping and 1.25in. Travertine paver (French pattern) deck with a 5' x 25' Travertine walkway using the dry set method. Instead of a concrete slab (just in case of any future leaks, it may be easier and cost effective to fix), I'm planning to do about 8 inches of stone base (Crush N Run) and 1 inch of sand. Hopefully this will prevent any heaves. Do you think that is enough base? I live in Virginia. What should we use as edging to keep the Travertine deck patio intact over the years so it does not spread out? If anyone have specific websites or brands of edging, that is welcomed as well. We were thinking of just putting the travertine pavers close together without raking polymeric sand in between. Do you think that is a good idea with a dry set? Below is the diagram of the pool deck. Thanks.
