Ecofinish after Plaster

Hi,

We are considering using EcoFinish after Re-plastering the pool for longestivity. The last plaster job lasted 5 years. We are hoping with ecofinish it will be 8-10 years and the pool will also look nicer with a nice blue coat.

Can anyone comment on how EcoFinish has held up and if it's worth an extra $5000 added to a plaster job?

What kind of horrifying plaster job did you have with only a 5-year life span? Did you maintain chemistry properly? Was it applied properly in the first place? A well-applied but poorly maintained plaster surface should still last longer than 5 years. Well-applied, well-maintained plaster can easily last 20 years or more. We bought our house in 2013 when the pool was 40 years old. It had a replaster in 1998 and we anticipated another replaster in a few years. We did it in 2015 (full sandblast/replaster) and it still looks brand new.

If for some reason you're not maintaining proper chemistry or otherwise abusing the pool, EcoFinish may make sense for you.
