Hello, I am having an issue with my Easytouch 400 not controlling the temperature of my heater. This happened all of a sudden when I was using the spa I noticed that the temperature just kept rising so I went out to take a look at the heater saw that it was set to 104 on the heater and that the heater was only responding to using the manual controls on the heater itself. Heater is working fine manually. When I set a temperature in my phone for the heater to go up to or if I set a temperature below the set point the heater does not respond at all it will not shut off until it reaches what is set manually on the heater control panel. The temperature settings I set on my phone show on the Easytouch screen but the heater does not respond to those. I looked at the Easytouch 400 it does have a two wire connection on the circuit board which has a number on it J19/heater. The two wires(looks like a single wire but is two wires under the insulation) are going from that connection to the heater. Not sure what to do next. Thanks!

I had a technician come out today. He replaced the communication cable & fitting on the end that attaches to the easytouch. He said because that didn't solve the issue it must be the circuit board. Just wanted to get input on that before I move on with letting them replace it. Thanks!

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

You can check the heater relay on the EasyTouch PCB using a multimeter, with the wires disconnected, and heater off. If you have continuity with the heat off then the relay is bad.

Your problem may be a relay driver chip that blew and is socketed and replaceable on the board. The chip can be had on Amazon eight for around $10. See Pentair Automation Systems - Further Reading

Thanks! I'm going to order the chip and see if that's my issue. I'll update when installed.

Hello,
Quick question. Where on the board is the relay? Thanks!!

Great news! I received the chip today and installed it in the U4 slot. Problem solved! Thank you so much for all the help!!
