EasyTouch vs Pump

Hello, something strange has been going on for the past couple of years. I gave Easy Touch upgrade and Intelliflo. My filter pump keeps stopping regardless of the speed (1-4) that I press. The alarm says Clear Drain. I press reset on the pump and then start and it runs again for 15-30 mins. It does not change speed. When it stops I have to press start on the pump. The EasyTouch panel doesn’t engage the pump. The pump says Stopped even if I engage the same pump on EasyTouch. All the schedules for pumps 5-8 are Enabled but i have a feeling that they dont get engaged. But sometimes (eg after a backwash) a better process suddenly kicks in and the pump starts operating normally, switching speeds automatically and running consistently. I have a suspicion that my pump and my Easy Touch are not cooperating. How do I get my system to switch gears automatically and run consistently without stopping and me running back to manually restart it? Thank you

Welcome to TFP.
It sounds like you may have a Pentair pump with SVRS - Safety Release Vacuum System.
This can stop a pump if there is slightest change in suction. This is why it may say Clear Drain
Please confirm.

Do you have the SVRS version of the IntelliFlo?? If so, that was a downgrade not an upgrade. Worst pump ever. Who told you that you needed that pump???

I know because I have one...

The first thing you need to do is find out if the EasyTouch is controlling the pump.

Put the EasyTouch in AUTO and Pool.. Wait a minute, and then go look at the pump's display and tell me what is shows..

It should show "Display Not Active"...
