Easy Touch Control

My pool and equipment are about 6 years old. All of a sudden my Pentair controller's buttons to select items to adjust stopped. (right and left buttons)
The pool goes on and off as scheduled but, I must manually operate the chlorine generator instead from the controller.
Any suggestions?

C,

I'm confused. You say the "controller's" buttons don't work, then you say you have to adjust from the "controller". What does that mean??

If you can adjust your IntelliChlor SWCG from the buttons on the cell itself, it means you no longer have RS-485 control over the cell.

What kind of pump do you have?

Do you have an internal salt cell power center or is it an external box?

Do you have ScreenLogic or a Pentair remote?

Thanks,

Jim R.

I am sorry to make my question confusing. I have a Pentair easy touch remote
My cell is external and the remote all of a sudden is not working it. I must manually adjust the chlorine level.
At the same time the remote will not operate any function but, the pool goes on and stops at the correct time.
This equipment has been in operation without trouble for 5+ years.
Any thoughts appreciated.

C,

OK, so it sounds like your remote is dead, but the EasyTouch and cell are working.

I have ScreenLogic and not a Pentair remote, so let's see if we can get someone that knows remotes to chime in.

Is your remote a wireless remote or is it a wired remote?

Thanks,

Jim R.

There was a recent post about repairing an EasyTouch remote. Probably not what you want to hear as the repair is tricky.

Hi there Jim,
Its a wireless remote. I can turn the pump off and on from the remote but, nothing else.

C,

Unfortunately, I know nothing about Pentair remotes. That said, if the RF link was bad, you would think the remote would not work at all. And you would not think that every button, but the pump button, would be bad.

Let's try Tom one more time.. Calling @ogdento

hey guys, yeah it does seem odd that you can turn the pump on from the remote but nothing else works... some questions:
1. are you turning the pump on by pressing the "spa" button on the remote?
2. on the remote, are you able to go to menu > diagnostics > software rev? (it should show the rev for the indoor/remote, AND the outdoor)
3. if you turn an aux circuit on from the outdoor panel, does the corresponding LED on the remote illuminate?
