easy on easy off winter cover

Hi. Don't close pool and don't cover pool cuz live in Seattle. But...
From time to time a few days of freezing weather and the pool is iced.
Usually just ignore it but am thinking would like to put on a cover to prevent the icing.
Should be easy on easy off since I am old and likely put on take off myself.
Any clever suggestions?

Is it not true that some bubble "solar" covers will save enough degrees to prevent freezing?

That’s totally dependent on just how cold it gets, but once the ground temperature starts plummeting no solar cover is going to keep any pool hot enough to stop freezing and the resulting broken lines.

Thank you. Pipes and all are below freeze level or indoors. Am just discussing couple inches on the surface over a period of a few days. Solar bubble won't stop that?

Bubble covers are not Winter covers. The instructions will all tell you that. Most find that when they leave a bubble cover on a pool in freezing, or even very cold, temperatures, the next time the cover is removed all the "bubbles" are in the bottom or the pool.

so only choices are
1) ignore couple inches surface ice
2) turn on heater
3) keep surface churning with eyeballs aimed up
there is no other choice for a few days of sub zero?
