Curious if saltwater would lessen the dry skin feeling after swimming? All my water levels are perfect with borates at 50. I added the borates after reading how they made skin feel. So far my water feels like it dries my face and hands out bad.

TA 100
PH 7.4
FC 5
CYA 40
BORATES 50

It isn't for the liner. But for your skin, if it goes very high, it can cause what my wife calls 'dry water'. Elevated TA can too. Might try working TA down to under 80.

My CH consistently hovers around 250, and I don't have the "dry" feeling, although I know what you're referring to. Granted I do have salt, so that may add to the overall feel. This is all largely subjective, though. We have received reports from members that both borates and salt improve the "feel" of the water. Personally, I think that since elevating my salt level for the SWCG, my water does "feel" nicer. I don't know how much of that is placebo.

The ingredients of that product seem to largely be fragrances, anti-foaming agents, and aloe vera (I don't know why you'd want to put this in your pool). I would personally not put random things into my water.

Thanks for this feedback! I just ordered what I need to bring my CH up to 200. I'll start there and see what that does.

I also just dropped my PH to 7.2 in attempts to drop my TA down some more. In 3 weeks I've gotten my TA from 130 to 100. When my PH gets back above 7.6 I drop it again to go after TA.

I did order the refresh product already prior to seeing your message. I'll try 5oz one time to see what it does. Only after all my other numbers are where I want them.
