I just realized I've been double priming my pump ever since I had my EasyTouch automation installed 2 years ago. My Pentair IntelliFlo VS pump has priming settings, and the ET has priming settings, and neither one overrides the other. They both run, first the pump's internal prime routine, then the ET's. Unless the user knows to change that.
The shortest time the ET's prime can run is 1 minute, and it doesn't know whether the pump is primed or not; it just runs for the specified time. On the other hand, the pump itself can realize it's primed in 3 seconds. I set the prime time on the ET to 0 minutes and now my pump no longer noisily and unnecessarily primes for a minute. D'oh.
