Dolphin Owners - Check Your Climbing Rings

I was not aware that the foam climbing rings on the ends of the rubber brushes can wear down over time. If they are below the level of the rubber brushes they should be replaced.

I just replaced the climbing rings on my Dolphin Premier and the difference in performance was dramatic. It moved more quickly, covered the bottom of the pool more thoroughly and, of course, climbed and cleaned the tile line better.

Replacing the climbing rings is simple. Here is a video that shows how:

I had a Dolphin Premier for over 7 years. The last two or three years the "climbing rings" wore out and fell off.

The cleaner worked just as it aways had. I could not tell any difference between how the cleaner worked with and without the rings.

I suspect they might make a difference on a fiberglass or liner pool, but it seemed to work just fine on two different gunite pools.

My pool is epoxy so the surface is slippery like fiberglass or liner.

The change in performance was very slow. Kinda like the slowly boiled frog, I didn't notice it unit the unit started avoiding the deep end. I have no idea why the climbing rings would make a difference in where the unit tracks.
