Hi everyone. I have the Doheny's Discovery (same as Maytronics S200) purchased in 2017. Never had any issues, works great. Usual run time is about 3 hours. Now it runs only about 30-40 minutes before it just stops. No obstruction anywhere, nothing out of the ordinary. I suspect it may have reached the end of life, 7 years is pretty good but was hoping to see if there is anything I can troubleshoot to see if I can replace a specific part. Would it be the control module or the motor itself or something else? As for usage, my season is usually 5-6 months, I use the unit once a week, had the unit for 7 years. Total approximate usage is probably around 160-180 times.

Any suggestion to troubleshoot to identify what parts should be replaced?

Thanks,
Joe

Still having issues. Any suggestions.
No suggestions but I also have the same robot, same length of ownership and use 2-3x a month. this week, the robot started doing the same as you described. Id say it ran about 30 minutes and then stopped. Turned it off/on again at the control unit...started up and ran for 30ish minutes and then stopped. im believing it may be at the end of its life and Ive now started researching whats new out there in the robot world.

I was still having the same issue but then noticed the plug was very oxidized. I also happen to be using an extension cord. So I tried it without the extension cord where the plug was nice a clean and it worked normal. I only tried it once, so I am wondering if that was the issue. Also, I am not sure you are supposed to use an extension cord anyway. I will probably still end up getting a new one soon, but you can look into that if you have a similar issue.

My guesses...
1. water intrusion into the motor unit case. This is mainly from the packing seals in the motor shaft bulkheads. Once it gets in, it wreaks havoc. Since it does run for 30 minutes at a time, my guess is it isn't motor brushes.
2. corrosion around the brass prongs of the blue rubber cord where it connects to the robot.

After fixing my Doheny discovery multiple times, scavenging parts from another S200 robot, I gave up. Only real fix was a $450 drive unit or $800 for the Polaris 614iq, which has been running great since.
