Doheny Discovery Robot troubleshooting

I have owned the Doheny Discovery since Summer 2016. It’s been good to us; we replaced the motor (covered under 2 year warranty) about 18 months in and haven’t had any trouble from it since. Lately though, it’s not picking up debris. It can move around the pool just fine, but the filter basket is virtually empty at the end of the cycle. When I google research the problem the options are (1) check filter basket Is clean and empty and (2) make sure the impeller is clear. Done and done, both appear to be in fine working order. Can anyone think of anything else that might be causing this problem?

There is a rubber flap between the brush and filter tank that can get deformed so it does not shut off flow through the front vent and reduces the suction at the inlet to the basket. Part #17
