If you wanted a larger cell, you could tell the builder not to add a chlorinator and you could buy a CircuPool RJ-60 SWG that puts out 3lbs of chlorine gas per 24 hours. It’s more of a DIY type install and it may not tie into your automation system.

Your pool volume is huge and so it’s a lot harder to run an SWG on volumes approaching 30k gallons.

Price seems quite reasonable. Especially since it includes a decent amount of decking, 2 color LED’s, SWCG, winter cover. Buyers always think the prices are high.

In Michigan, you will be fine with a 15K SWCG without needing to run your pump excessively. I’m in MD, so a little further south, and our 27,500 gallon pool in full sun works fine with one. Down south it would be too small for efficiency sake. $475 extra for a VSP is reasonable. Take it. No downside as noted above. Ignore PB concerns on that one.

Nobody said it yet but it’s a good price if it’s in the range of the competition and you like the PB.
