Help!
So in a moment of weakness and hope to get my pool ready for memorial day I used pool store shock to clear it up. It is still green. I have added over the last 2 weeks 24 bags of 73% calcium hypochlorite shock (power powder plus from Leslie's) CYA is at 50 and the FC test is reading over 20 for the last 3 days. Is this accurate? Does shock test differently? My pool started as black. It had a ton of leaves and junk at the bottom all winter. Yesterday I was able to sweep and scoop everything out I think, can't tell because I can't see the bottom. My concern is that the test is a false positive and there is no chlorine. I know patients is key but I feel like it's not budging.
