Do you use the same grout color for coping as waterline tile?

Just curious....when building or renovating....is the SAME grout color used for coping AND the waterline tile? We have picked a light gray / taupe marble for coping....and light blue waterline tile. Our PB indicates that they always use the same color so that it all looks cohesive. But I would think it would be common to pick the grout color that best compliments whatever tile you are grouting. Thoughts??

No. Coping and tile are different colors. No reason you have to use the same color grout on both.

Where are they putting grout on coping? Gaps between coping tiles are filled with mortar, not grout. Grout is too soft to last between coping stones.

The coping that is around our spa with the marble is grey but our spa and pool waterline tile grout is white.
