Do you log your FC number before you top up the FC or after?

I’ve been testing, logging my results, then adding what I need to bring it up to where I want it. I don’t feel a need to test again to confirm.

For example, with my CYA at 60 I should be FC 7-9. So I test after it’s been a few days and say it’s 7. I just log the 7, then I add chlorine to bring it up to 9. But I don’t test to confirm, because I feel it’s a waste of test chem. What happens then is all my logs appear like I’m letting things run low when I’m actually not at all.

Wondering what you all do. Do you log the low number then, or log the number it should be after you add the chlorine?

I did before I didn't. I confirmed my additions in the beginning for two reasons; peace of mind, and confirmation that my builder's volume calculations were accurate. I don't any longer.

All my logs are like that unless I had some reason to test again - I do wish it would put the estimated increase for the addition in with the log but so far that’s not a feature for anything but an addition from swcg.
The exception is In my spa when i am working on increasing cya with dichlor I do add a new log after for my cya based on my estimate as I go to help keep up with it, but that’s the only one I do it for. Because I don’t want to confuse estimates with actual results.
If PM added the estimated increase next to the addition in the log it would be easily discernible from actual test results. This is something I have been thinking of mentioning for a while since I found it was possible for the swg.

Maybe in the future?
