So I’m on day 3 of a SLAM after a crazy ridiculous amount of rain that overflowed our pool. This is also my first SLAM( new house, new pool) I’m using the Taylor K-2006 kit and meticulously following directions, on the testing and adding chlorine according to the “pool math” calculations. I did recently find out that I should have rounded up the 45 CYA to 50 but in truth it was probably closer to being 40. I’ve been using the CalHypo bags since we had them and our CH hasn’t been very high, but now I’m finally done with them and wanting to continue the Slam with liquid chlorine. I’m just curious if my FC numbers look normal for what you would have for a SLAM it just seems like I lose a lot and can barely keep up with keeping the m at SLAM level. Am I just over thinking it? Just need some advice/guidance
As a note: we were definitely pool stored when we first bought the house, and bought all this powder shock and trichlor tabs, and we are going to start with only liquid chlorine, but hubby wanted to use what we had already paid for. I do have him convinced to stop the trichlor tabs so now that the calHypo is gone (as of my last addition just a bit ago), we are going forward with the liquid chlorine
