Do I need a T-15 cell?

A couple of other questions. I added the chlorinating liquid. To turn off the SWG is it okay to just turn the switch to off or turn the power off altogether? Can I add the borax with the liquid or wait until tomorrow?

Putting the SWG switch to OFF is sufficient.

You can add the Borax now.

You are better off to raise your TA with baking soda first. Target 70 ppm using POOLMATH. Add it in batches, circulate, and test.

TA and pH still too low. Really should use soda ash instead of Borax and get them both up. PH won’t get up until you get TA up.

Need to add chlorine.

Remember this

Baking Soda = big TA change, small pH change
Borax = Big pH change, small TA change
Washing Soda (Soda Ash) = big pH change, big TA change. Probably more TA change than you want.

It is always safer to use baking soda to raise your TA and let pH come up via aeration. Unless your TA is zero (or negative) and pH has crashed.

Added about half a bag of baking soda. The 13.5 lb. bag. That's all I had left until I can get to Costco for more. Thanks.

Always use liquid chlorine to move FC a significant amount. Not the SWCG. It is for maintaining.

Plus, if the SWCG is off due to cold water, it will not work at all.
