It will until all the algae is eradicated (that is when you pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test) and your sand filter eventually retains the debris.

Be sure to only backwash when your filter pressure rises by 25% over your clean filter pressure. A sand filter cleans the water better when it is a little dirty.

You can safely swim in a pool as long as the FC is above the minimum and at or below SLAM level based on your CYA. You must also be able to see the bottom of the pool in the deep end of the pool.
