Diverter - Diverter for Sand Filter

Surface
Plaster
Third year with pool, year one empty, clean, patch up. Year two, enjoy, but cold (heater was full of holes, bypassed)

This year, fix/replace diverter and add heater back (natural gas available).
Diverter is allowing water to pass through to waste at all times, so we cannot keep the pool level at correct height.

Is there a o-ring/seal kit for these diverters? I could not find one on internet, suggestions for specialty companies?
Should I replace this diverter? I don't believe that would be hard, suggestions for a new diverter?

You can see pipe with a clear portion and that goes to waste. Sand Filter model info included.

Advice appreciated if I am missing something.

Peter

That is a very old valve and filter.

I think this is the correct valve...came in 1.5 and 2" versions. I'd contact INYO ( @InyoRich any help?) and confirm before buying anything. 2" o-rings are listed.

If you have a 2", this is the correct replacement:
Sta-Rite Pool/Spa Sand and D.E. Filter 2" Push Pull Valve, 263053

Based on the diagrams, should be 2", with 7.8" Center on Center spacing. Again, might contact inyo and see what they have for your HRPB24 filter.

Thanks for the info, most of the equipment is old. I was able to replace the sand in the filter last year as the innards were still good, that was nice. This pool has set untouched for about eight years before we bought this place.

You are correct on the measurements, 2" line and 7.8" center to center on the filter and diverter. It is a HRPB24.

Looking at the suggested replacement less than $200 I believe that is the way to go. I would be glad to purchase from someone supporting the site, @InyoRich What would your suggestion be? I assume you are part of Inyo Pools. Would this be the piece to purchase from Inyo?

My apologies for the late reply - I was out of town.

The 263053 would be the modern replacement for your WC12 push-pull valve. O-rings are available (and cheaper - and easier to install versus a new valve, unless there is a physical issue with the old one). I think your WC12 is the 1-1/2" version (you can verify it by taking the piston out and measuring the ID of the pipe) so it should use two #322 or O-321 O-rings (1-1/4" ID, 3/16" Cross Section; The 2" valve uses two #326 or O-112 O-rings (3/16" cross-section, 1-5/8" ID). Be sure to add lubricant to the surfaces so they operate easily and last longer.

Totally appreciate, I have the 2" version, so I will get a couple #326s. There was no o-ring on the bottom "stopper"
