I am in the process of setting up my skimmer on my concrete block pool build. What's the minimum or suggested distance I leave between the two (top of skimmer plate and liner track) on a vinyl liner install? It's top mount track fyi.

3 to 4 inches is standard to top cutout. Gives you about 5 to 6 inches below coping for normal water height
@jimmythegreek is there a reason for this standard. I'm trying to keep my skimmer as high as possible so my shallow end doesn't get too shallow. I'm a taller guy lol. Was hoping I could get away with two inches maybe 3.
It's to leave a little meat on the liner between them and leave room for the faceplate trim. Usually kits have them pre cut not sure where ur panels come from. If u gotta cut yourself make sure you test the trim plate so theres an inch of liner showing or it wont look right. The extra inch wont matter I get your angle. I cut them high too I like water as high as possible to coping it looks better
