Hello Pool Chemistry Nerds! :) First, I want to say thank you to everyone that posts, replies and provides content on this site. It's been extremely helpful as a new pool owner.

I purchased a house a few months ago and finally have the "mustard" algae under control that is on the top corner of the steps( I think). I'll be upfront and say I know the pool has to be re-plastered, we hope to be able to do so the end of this season before next. Around the stairs I have a few "Stains" that I can't seem to get out. I've done the normal and hard scrubbing. I'm not sure what the discoloration is caused from, however when we bought the house it was full of leaves and chemicals weren't up to date for several months.

I've attached a photo and hope you can provide some insight on what it is and how I can get rid of it.

Lastly, is it safe to swim with this if I can't get it out?

Tony

No problem. If you can identify the stain come right back here and let us know what it is so we can help with a plan of action for removal :)
