Difference in chlorine test reagents?

No test kit yet. Using their pool service for a few months. Need to purchase.
Ah. Therein lies the problem. Honestly, IMO neither pool store number is better than the other and they are both garbage. Assuming your SWG operation, make sure you get the salt tests when you buy your new kit.

Not sure what you mean by store numbers. The service guy has been testing the pool. I was asking about the reagents in the test kits. The TF-100 looks like it uses the yellow versus Taylor purplish. Both good?

To test FC you use the FAS-DPD test kit. Powder and reagent. You are speaking of an OTO vs DPD test which are not recommended. The TF100 includes an OTO test as it comes with the K1000 used for pH testing.

For a residential pool owner, the TF-100 based kits are a better value than similar Taylor kits. Both use Taylor reagents. A Speed Stir (or Smart Stir) will make testing easier and with more consistent results.
