Deep Cleaning sand filter with filtration glass

Hello,

I found a post on how to do Deep Cleaning of sand filter.
I have a sand filter but it is filtration glass that is in it. Is it possible to do the Deep Cleaning with this kind of filtration? Can it harm something to do it? Is it necessary as if it was sand?

You do need to get the gunk and stuff the filter catches out of the filter and water. A backwash is the way to go. You can also do the same deep clean like suggested for sand.
