Hi! I've uncovered the pool and replaced baskets and plugs. I'm now working on stretching a part of the liner that came loose from the liner lock (using the blow dryer method). Almost done, but it's tough!
My question is should I deep clean the sand filter before turning equipment back on or is just backwashing through the season good enough? I haven't deep cleaned it yet in the 3 years we've had the pool. Is this supposed to be a yearly thing? Thanks!

I would probably do it this year.. You do not have to do it yearly but some do... It will help settle and clean your filter for the season :)

So looking at the videos I was hoping it was as simple as taking the screws out the top of the multiport, putting a hose in the sand and shifting it around some until water ran clean (or somewhat like that). I now realize I may have to cut pvc to open it, which I am not doing. Is that the only way to deep clean it?
