Dealing with high FC & CC

Have been managing my pool for the past few years without issue but today I had something come up that I'm not entirely sure how to treat.

Slammed last weekend and FC and CC were in good shape afterwards (FC 5, CC <.5) . Following the weekend, I had some slight cloudiness after a few days so I slammed again, however my CC is still high and my FC is also high.

Is the solution here to slam yet again and just wait for the FC to drop?

The test numbers you posted are almost impossible. Could be a typo on the CC?

Ah, good point, the CC should have been TC!

Those tests are not as accurate as we would like and you really need a better test kit. Most people "in the industry" are focused on making $ from homeowners vs accuracy.

With that said, it sounds like you should have never ended the SLAM. Did you pass all 3 criteria to end the SLAM? SLAMs take days/weeks and are not just a one time dump and pray. It sounds to me like that is what you did are are having it turn cloudy once your FC drops into normal ranges. My suggestion is to increase your FC to SLAM level while you wait on a good test kit.

Like mentioned above, the spintouch isnt so accurate and you need a CC measurement. If the CC really is almost 2ppm like the results say above, youve got something brewing in the water that needs a SLAM process, but i wouldn’t trust those results.
