I am a fairly new pool owner...moved into my home last summer and have been since learning how to take care of our inground pool. Doing pretty well so far, I think. But, today I went to backwash the DE filter (done it many times with no issues) and I noticed that when the multiport valve was on "backwash" that the pool jets were blowing it in the pool instead of it going to wastewater. This has never happened before. I cleaned the filter grids a couple of months ago. I switched the valve to rinse and it did that correctly. Any idea why it would blow it back into the pool instead of going to waste? I appreciate any help!
