Hello!
Have any of you had Perlite feel like like sand after it has "fully" dissolved? I am dissolving the product in a bucket prior to precoating the filter, just like I have with DE over the past 10 years and yet it seems very grainy in the bucket. The filter is purging this "sand" from the air release valve and I have a feeling that it is clogging the flow of the filter (pressure rising very quickly). While I am still in mid-SLAM, the process of getting the water to clear seems much slower than in other years.
I thought that becoming sanding maybe has something to do with my pool water and it's chemistry, yet I have the same results when I dissolve the the DicaPool in a bucket of tap water. We started this season with Leslie's DE and I switched to DicaPool about one backwash into the opening process....
We are about to open the filter, rinse the entire thing, and start again.
Any advice thoughts are appreciated.
