DE filter question!

I've had hayward DE filters for many years.
Went to pick up a bag of DE yesterday & shop didn't have any & said they probably weren't getting any.
They told me DE was being phased out because it caused cancer!

Is this true?
Is there a substitute for DE that can be used in the filter?
I've still got a little bit from last year to get the pool going, but then what do I use?

Try some other pool stores. DE is not being phased out.

DE filters are still widely sold.

The carcinogenic effects of inhaling DE have been known for many years. Don’t sniff it.

In Massachusetts, try Ocean State Job Lot. It's prudent to wear a mask when working with DE.

The guy I had talked to made it sound like you wouldn't be able to get it anymore & mentioned it would be replaced with another product.
I've always had great results with DE, so glad to hear this isn't correct!
