I have a DE filter with a backwash drain line plumbed to a sewer drain (e.g., with air gap on the DE drain line).
The drain line has a sight glass (e.g., `1" clear plastic bulb installed in the PVC to see debris in water while backwashing). The sight glass is located right after the backwash multi position valve. I can see green algae forming on the inside of the sight glass. I backwashed, and it cleared it up, but then came back in a couple of weeks.
Anyone else have this issue and if so, what do you do to prevent it? Flush the line every month?
Thanks!
