Dallas TX Remodel - Plaster and Tile

Usually all demo is completed before the new products are installed.

There is less chance of damaging the new tile if the full chip out is done first.

I have only seen both removed at the same time.

That’s what I would have guessed. Doesn’t seem to be what they are doing. Will have to keep a close eye on everything I guess

Provide pictures of the progress, especially the new tile installation before the removal of the old plaster.

Here’s progress so far, tile and stone work was done last Friday/Saturday and looks really good. I didn’t take any final pictures of the top of the stone with the expansion joint but looks good with the layer of sand on top. They started chipping away at plaster today. I’m not a pro and unsure what to think, but it doesn’t necessarily give me the warm and fuzzies.

They should be using flat chisels, not pointed chisels.

It looks like they are using pointed chisels and digging into the gunite more then necessary.

This is actually an ok picture to see the finished stone work
