CYA levels abnormally high

I just opened my pool this past week. After refilling 1/3 of it from the city water, it was reading kind of high on the cya level. Now My taylor 2006c test kit is 3 years old and I thought maybe it was old chemicals. I ordered a new 2006c kit with a speed stir. Well, it arrived and most of the results were fairly similar except the cya. It jumped from 60 to 90. Ran the test 2 times and had same result.

My question is how can my pool, after being 1/3 drained over the winter still have such high levels of cya in it. it just doesn't make sense.

COuld be, but if you look at my logs, it wasn't. UNLESS my chemicals were already compromised...

R0013 is really stable so unless it was frozen at some time, that reagent for CYA is normally good.

Hard to say. Have to go with what you tested today.
