CYA addition and high sand filter pressure

Hi,

I added stabilizer the evening of the 18th to get my CYA up to a good level. I’ve noticed today that my filter pressure is up to 12psi from around 5-6 where it was when I setup the filter last weekend.
I know that the instructions say to wait a week before backwashing after adding stabilizer, but it’s it ok to let the filter run at a higher psi for a few more days? Also since it needs backwashing the return flow is much lower than it was.

How did you add the stabilizer? In a sock hung over the side like we recommend?

Yes. I put it in a sock and placed it in the simmer on the side of the pool. I massaged it every so often and it all dissolved over the course of 24 hrs or so.

If you put it in a sock, it dissolved into the water. Its fine to backwash now.
