Cut a hole for an inlet - now it's dripping. What should I do?

Since everything was converted to pvc, we decided to replace an inlet with a plunger valve set ( i had a similar connection as in first review before conversion): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WFB3HQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Now it's dripping from outside. It looks like everything sits as it should so I need any other suggestions for what could be done to fix the drip now. Thanks!

Not sure if you have tried this... but maybe a set of channel locks to do the nut up a bit tighter with lots of pool lube on the washers..

Tried with magic lube and channel locks, but still leaking. It's also leaking more if I rock it somewhat in place. The cut fit tight enough around the threaded strainer but not too tight. Any ideas?

Maybe a dumb question, but are you using the rubber gaskets under the nuts?

yep, just one- on the inside of the pool. It should've worked, but it doesn't. I ordered an extra one to put on the outside - we'll see. I figured out what was going on - the threading is somewhat off so the nut comes on a slight angle.

i know i have 2 rubber washers on all my inlets. one on the outside and one on the inside. no leaks

Drain the pool down below the inlet or plug the inlet, seal The drip with 100% silicone, let it set, usually 30 mins, refill. This will only work on small drips, not to hold water back.

If the threads or the nut was x threaded then it's going to be hard to get to seal as its not even pressure on gasket. Try doubling up gasket on inside instead of putting one on outside..
