Hi all,
Every time I come across a hyperlink for poolmath to calculate something, it takes me to a page that says “download app in App Store” but I already have the app. Very frustrating. So is there a way I can calculate my csi on my own? And why is there such a discrepancy in levels? Our PB told us last year that alkinity should be 100-120 (plaster) but this site says differently, as does calcium levels. I’ve been told to get ours to 250 by someone on this site (we are at 240) and this site says it should be much higher. Product containers advise 200-400. Who is right? We are dealing with stains in our new pool and the pebble manufacturer is paying us a visit in the near future so trying to make sure we are doing everything right.

Yes. When we link it that's what happens. Usually we do so prompting the newb to download it. It doesn't automatically open your app.

The industry expects you to use tabs and the CYA(cid) in the pucks lowers the Ph. Having a higher TA helps slow its decline.

Ditch the tabs and the equation changes and your Ph will instead rise, even faster with the higher TA, but their advice remains the same. Your choice if they're ignorant or wish to sell you Ph lowering chemicals becuase its going to rise quickly.

We advise based upon your fill water. With typically higher CH in your area, the CH will rise so we advise to start lower and let it get there on its own. What's your fill water CH ?

The Industry says to start at target, or higher, and watch it climb too high even sooner.

No I have an Apple.
I just tested our fill water and CH is 140. But we have a full house water filter that affects pressure so upon the initial filling up of the pool we turn filter off. I imagine that would increase CH quite a bit. But the top offs like the one we are doing right now comes from the pool fill valve and that’s filtered water (140CH).
Ok so right after our pool was up and running last year, we had white film on top row of waterline tile that is below white travertine stone walls. (Water does not touch this tile line). Builder said to scrub it with a scotchpad. I never got around to it and once wet it would go away. Fast forward a year and they are telling us we have a calcium issue and the yellowish stains on bottom of pool are due to calcium levels. (PB wants us to do another acid wash but that’s another issue). The water tile line I referred to above now looks like it now has white scaling marks but none of it comes off with scrubbing. Additionally, tiny rust stains show up on spa spillover edge and we also have two tiles in one corner that has orangish film that comes off with a fingernail or scrubbing but it’s stubborn. What are all these marks from and how can I remove them?

I’m in the app right now. I first see the page to log chemicals and my levels (which also doesn’t change for me- my levels in there are not accurate and numbers do not save when I change the numbers hence why I don’t have it shared for all to see). Then I go to pool school and then pool math and I get the page advertising the App Store.
