As a first time pool builder I have loved doing research on this forum. Now I have a problem and hope to get some feedback. Maybe a BIG problem. A few weeks after our shotcrete was done last November we noticed narrow cracks running 8-15 feet in the 42' long pool. We have clay soil and there is ground water in the deeper section of the pool underneath it. We have a very slow builder and have had a lot of issues (communication, quality, not showing up). Just now they sent a plaster guy out and he took one look at left. He is a subcontractor from a different city and seemed knowledgable. There are several problems. We need more building up of the uneven places with plaster or diamondbrite before they can install their NPT Stonescapes coating. But more importantly he says we have ground water leaking up through the small cracks. What should we do? We have an infinity edge 42' long and there are leaky wet areas in the main pool as well as along the edges of the spill over trough or catch basin down below. Here are some photos. Do we get the concrete tested? When we first noticed these cracks the builder assured us they were normal and "not structural." What is the definition of structural? Is he just lying to us?
