Cracks Along Skimmer Basket Housing

My husband noticed these cracks along the housing for the skimmer basket. Two questions, he noticed the water level a little low and is wondering if it could be from these cracks? And 2nd, short of draining some water, he has some under water epoxy and was contemplating trying that to at least cover the cracks, unless there is a better way? Thoughts?

Those cracks can certainly cause a water loss. Drain the pool just a bit below the level of the crack and then seal them with regular epoxy. That will be difficult to keep them from cracking again but you might get a couple of years out of it.

It is caused be uneven settling under your pool deck and that settling will likely continue.

Thank you! The pool was installed in 1997, is it likely they'd be from settling after 25 years? Or also could be just after 25 years the equipment is starting to breakdown?

I'm assuming it's a big to do to completely replace it?

Unfortunately, it usually is. Settling is unpredictable so this can happen anytime. If the pool is leaking water through that crack, it is likely making the settling worse.

How much refill water do you add to the pool in a weeks time?

We don't usually add any weekly. We keep an eye on the level of course, but with rain, we usually never have to add any ourselves except after we open it.
