Hello, TFP’ers,
I am hoping to get some advice about a crack in the pump cover discovered after cleaning and filling the pool. Upon turning on the pump motor, water spurted out at an alarming rate just where the pump connects to the pre-filter housing. See photo. This combo was purchased last june. The spouse and I kicked around possibilities of repair, but we are not sure that is possible. We are guessing the pump is toast, right? This is an Intex 14” sand filter pump combo. Assuming this is not fixable, would it be possible to buy the 10” combo ($50 less) and use that pump with the 14” sand filter? But, really, should I stick to Intex? I don’t see much in that price range in other brands. Thanks for any advice!
