Coverstar Autocover winter storage

I have a IGP with a Coverstar autocover and also have a mesh winter cover. Last year the pool company rolled-up the cover in the vault and when the pool was opened in the Spring there was quite a bit of mildew on the cover. Are there any suggestions on what to do that might help mitigate this problem?

Sprinkle liberally with baking soda as it rolls up. Depending on the room available in the vault you could put a few containers / buckets of damp rid.
