Coping maintenance

I've noticed that some of the edging pavers around my pool are starting to develop cracks at the joints. Should I be concerned? Is there any type of maintenance (example: sealing) that I can/should do? Or am I looking at eventually needing to replace the paver edging at some point. The pool is about 11 years old.

The problem looks like you may not have an expansion joint between the coping and the pavers. Got any closer pictures?

It seems like the pavers were used as coping. Here are some closeups at the skimmer. The pool was installed long before I moved in.
