I was at Leslie’s returning a giant bag of DE I didn’t need (turns out I just needed a small bag of patience). While the employee struggled to look up my account, I overheard the other employee explaining a customer’s test results. Evidently this person’s water was “still cloudy” after overdosing with clarifier. The pool store advice? More clarifier. The customer mentioned that the bottle said putting in too much can make cloudiness worse, and the pool store employee informed her that all clarifiers are not the same so maybe a different (more expensive one), or perhaps she could try a floc agent. Also; throw in 10lbs of alkalinity up (which btw is $32.99
… I ran over to the shelf to see lol).
I wanted to help this lady. I remember the days of being pool stored. I scribbled troublefreepool.com on a piece of paper and tried to give it to her stealthily in between the aisles of potion buckets. “Have you ever heard of this website? I think it will help. And please don’t put any more clarifier in your pool.” But I may be a tad socially awkward? She seemed to think maybe I was trying to sell her something.
I looked at the line of people checking out with their enormous drums of tablets and pucks and god knows what else and I just wanted to save them all. How do you convert people to TFP in public?
