Contract Signed

I have just signed a contract for my in ground 16X32 pool with 8X6 vinyl over steel tanning shelf. The pool is 4 feet deep the whole distance of the pool. About 16,000 gallons.
Contractor said I should be swimming by 9-15-17.

Here is the equipment he is using

AquaRite w/TurboCell Salt Chlorinator

24 Inch Hayward Sand Filter

Super Pump 1.0 Hp single speed Hayward pump

H200 Hayward heater 200,000 BTU

Hayward Large 12V Switched Color pool light

Any recommendations on this equipment ?

Money is not an issue too a point if upgrading would make the pool better.

2 speed pump.... what you have is fine 2 speed will save you a ton electricity

When you have a SWCG, you often have to run the pump for a long time to generate the amount of chlorine needed to sanitize your pool. To do this with a single speed pump can be costly.

I would go with a 2-speed pump or a variable speed pump, which will reduce your electrical bill.

Newbie question: Is a 1 HP pump enough? I have a 2HP in my 12,000 gallon pool. Is it just a matter of taking longer to turn the water over? Or does it not impact circulation volume also?

The 1HP is fine. Don't get hung up on water 'turnover', you just need to run the pump long enough to keep the pool free of debris.
