Continue balancing chemicals or do I need a SLAM?

Just started getting the pool ready yesterday. We have been having a lot of blooms falling into the pool (pollen season), so I've been vacuuming and skimming organic material from pool. Yesterday pool was somewhat cloudy, today It has just the slightest green hue to it, but generally clear (easily see the bottom). I assume I need to stay the course and wait for chlorine levels to raise. SWG is at 100% since yesterday afternoon when I added 280lbs of Salt. My plan is to add additional salt to get to 3500, and Add Acid for PH to lower and see where we are at tomorrow. I'm going going to leave the TA alone for now, and focus on PH and CL.
Am I on the right plan of patience or is slamming the best option at this point?

Current Levels:
CC-0.6
FC-1.0
PH-7.8
TA-60ppm
CYA-unreadable <30
Salt 2900ppm

You should immediately add liquid chlorine to raise your FC to 10 ppm and maintain that - SLAM Process. Green hue is algae.

A SWCG is not designed to raise your FC. It is designed to maintain your FC.

Thanks for the advice Marty, always appreciated. From what I read SWG should be turned off (or set to 0%) before adding Liquid Chlorine. When should I turn my SWG back on, once everything is balanced and green is gone?

MJ,

As Marty indicates you need to SLAM. You'll need a supply of liquid chlorine for this. Don't try to solve this with gradual increase in FC with the SWG. Looks like you have an algae bloom in early stage. Follow SLAM procedures and Marty's advice. You'll be back on track to a sparkling pool in short order and at lowest cost.

We suggest turning off the SWCG for a SLAM as it is not an efficient means of adding chlorine at the rate you need it. It will not be harmed by running it. So that is up to you.

When you pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test and your water is crystal clear, you can let the FC fall into your target range and adjust the SWCG output.

I assume you are working on getting your CYA to 30 ppm for the SLAM and once things are settled raise your CYA to 70 ppm for the summer.

Also....firing up the SWCG isn't recommended until the salt has been dissolved and circualted for 24 hours. A whole bunch of your run time at 100% probably went for naught.
