My Pentair IntelliFlo VS pump will be 10 years old this December. It continues to run perfectly without noise or complaint. I do baby it: I empty its pot annually when I clean my filter cartridges. That's all the care it gets because it doesn't ask for more.

Mines at 8 years. Running continuously. None of those run 4 months a year kind of thing.
