Connecting new pump

You guys and gals have been a huge help so far but now to my next little project. I bought a Hayward Power-flo matrix dual speed pump to replace the old single speed pump. As I've stated before, I'm new to the pool world. I went to connect the pump and the fittings would not work. I'm guessing I need different unions. I also see that i specifically need pool unions. Any help with sizing and which unions to get will help greatly. I have attached a few pics
