Connecting 2" piping to Hayward skimmer, looking for OUTER fitting...

I want to install my Hayward Dynaskim skimmer with 2” piping. To minimize flow restriction, I want to find a fitting that can screw on the outside portion (male), as opposite to screwing a fitting in the 1.5” (female) inside opening. But I cant figure out what fitting to use. I tried a Hayward T-Cell 2" union (GLX-CELL-UNION) but it is too big. Any idea?

I am plumbing 2" from skimmer to end of equipment pad, where I will have two 1.5" return lines. This will run on a variable speed. Do you guys see any problem in this setup?

I just added a Hayward skimmer. I couldn't find anything to connect to the outside threads, so I used this connector made by Custom Molded products from Amazon. They're out of stock at Amazon, but other on-line stores are beginning to offer them again.

This is a High Temp Union which you don't really need unless it's connected to a spa. I believe it comes both ways. I was told when I did mine that there wouldn't be any noticeable restriction in flow when connecting to to inside threads (1-1/2 in.). It was the same when I asked about paying for Long 90 degree sweeps rather than 90 degree elbows. The difference in flow is probably negligible.
