Confused pool owner

I am considering adding borates to our pool, but I have a couple of questions first. I noticed in the recommended levels that it calls for 50-90+ TA. Mine is currently110, and in the reading about borates it says to get it down to 70-80. why is that? Also, I have clear looking water when looking down from above the surface, but when you swim under it appears to be somewhat blury, or difficult to see something on the bottom. Any help anyone could give me would be appreciated a lot. Test results with TF100 are FC 4.0,CC 0 CH 175, TA 110, CYA 30,PH 7.5. Water looks clear until you go under. Thanks in advance.

Why are you considering adding borates? Are you having problems maintaining your pH level?

I like what I read about the borates and would like the feeling that it describes.
